Busy Bee

It's late so I'll try to give a thorough, yet precise, update in a short fashion. Mom, Dad, and I went to Sunday school and church earlier that day. We didn't make it through the church service, but Dad said Sunday school was very interesting (Mom and I toured the church a little as I was getting restless). We did all end up at Opryland Hotel on Sunday evening. Mom, Dad, Oma, Uncle Matt, and MeMe went while Grand-daddy rested at home. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. There were lights everywhere. We walked around inside for a long time and even took a stop for gelato (I had squash which coordinated nicely with the colors of the adults' treats). Monday, my extended family went back to Alabama. I had a lot of fun seeing them and showing them around my house and Nashville. I hope I don't have to wait another 5 months to see them again. Tuesday, I went to Kindermusik with Mom. I think I had a mild cold so I was a little more sedate than usual. Kindermusik was still lots of fun. We did some new stuff with songs we hadn't used yet so it was extra interesting. Tuesday night, Dad and I stayed at home and chilled out on the couch while Mom went to ballet class. She really enoys her dancing and I really enjoy my special time I get to spend with Dad. Wednesday, I had my 9-month check-up with my doctor. I'll make it short and simple: it was not fun! I didn't have to get a shot (for which I'm thankful), but I think I'd rather see Dr. Wallstedt on a casual basis when Mom and I visit Dad for lunch and not deal with this whole "doctor" stuff at all. I'm doing my best to forget the visit so that I don't cry when I go to Dad's office next time. I weigh 19 pounds, 11 ounces; I am 29.5 inches long. My cold is gone and I got a good report from the doctor. And that brings us to today. I'm 9-months old today. And for a special treat, I had friends come play with me this afternoon. Mom and I picked up Lacey and Elizabeth (next-door-neighbors) from school and they came to our house to play for a couple of hours. We had all sorts of fun. They came over last night for a few minutes to give us directions to their school and previewed the fun we were to have today. I liked playing with them very much. I think they'll teach me all sorts of fun stuff as I get older. Their parents said their whole family would babysit me if Mom and Dad wanted to go out to dinner some time. That sounds like fun to me. Tomorrow, I go to get pictures taken at Portait Innovations. Mom and Dad hope to get a package that they can use to fill Christmas cards. I hope it's fast as well as fun. MeMe made me a pretty dress just for Christmas that I'll wear. I plan on smiling sweetly and doing my part to bring joy to all who see me. Mom and Dad say I bring them lots of joy. And even though this is my first Christmas, I know this is a joyous time of year and I'm enjoying all the festivities and spending time with family. Goodnight all!
